A living connection

The Wild Carp Trust seeks to raise awareness and understanding of the historic importance of our heritage strains of carp. As a living connection with the strains of yesteryear, these rare fish remind us of the original wild carp from which all cultivated strains were bred.

Please see the Wild Carp Trust Blog for our latest education activities and achievements.

Telling their story to secure their future

As a high value ‘rare breed’, our oldest strains of carp are worthy of our protection and help. This will involve conducting research and sharing knowledge about these super-special fish, to tell their story and secure their future.

Ultimately we seek to be able to fund research and conservation projects that will protect the very few remaining wild populations and living gene banks of true wild carp.

Summaries of our research papers, articles and education programmes will appear here. Full details will be provided in our member publications.
