John Bailey is an internationally famous angler, author and broadcaster. His 1991 book ‘Casting for Gold’ inspired a generation of wild carp fishers. As President of The Wild Carp Trust, John is our figurehead with the passion and influence to raise awareness of wild and feral carp.
Dr Bruno Broughton is one of Europe’s leading fishery management consultants.
Famous angling broadcaster, author, and angler; Martin is Honorary Vice President.
Rafe is our fundraiser, responsible for revenue generation through campaigns, auctions and donations.
Awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to angling and conservation, Alan was Chairman of Rhayader & Elan Valley Angling Association for nearly 40 years. This is the organisation responsible for Llyngwyn and its medieval carp.
Ben Cornick is a fishery management consultant and fish farmer who oversees our fish rearing programmes. He’s also studying the growth rates of heritage carp compared to modern cultivated strains.
Steven is responsible for landowner relations for our conservation pools. An accomplished angling writer, he’s our lead advocate of fly fishing for wildies.
Better known by his penname ‘Fennel’, Nigel is an author, publisher, and magazine editor. His book Wild Carp was one of the catalysts for the formation of the Wild Carp Trust. In addition to his role as Chair of Trustees, he is our spokesperson responsible for press relations and publicity; he also edits and produces our newsletter and publications.
Peter is responsible for liaising with landowners, fisheries and angling clubs about stocking their lakes with wildies.
Stu is a filmmaker, photographer, author and very successful angler. His YouTube channel is hugely popular and, along with his books, has inspired thousands of people to enjoy the gentle pleasures of angling. Stuart is responsible for our YouTube channel and filming our events.
Andy is responsible for the Wild Carp Trust website and our online campaigns.
Scott is our artist in residence, providing evocative illustrations for our publications and to inspire people to admire our oldest strains of carp.
