New book captures the appeal of wild carp

16 June 2020

Wild Carp, the new book by Wild Carp Trust chair of trustees Fennel Hudson, captures his 20-year quest to find the UK’s ultimate wild carp water. It also lays the ground for the formation of the Wild Carp Trust, which is discussed at the end of the book.

Described as “Writing of the highest order” by Classic Angling magazine, the story tells how Fennel discovered wild carp at the age of 15 through the writings of BB, then details his adventures in discovering and fishing moats, ponds and estate lakes around the UK for progressively older strains of carp. It brings him into contact with other wild carp enthusiasts such as Mike Winter and Chris Yates, and captures the evolving appeal of wild carp as one gets older and more appreciative of the rarer things in life.

Wild Carp is available to order via all good bookshops. Signed copies are available directly from Fennel’s website fennelspriory.com. Price £25 plus postage.
