Sad passing of Alan Lewis, Wild Carp Trust Vice President

5 April 2024

The Wild Carp trust is sad to report the passing of Alan Lewis, our Vice President.

Alan, who was awarded the British Empire Medal for services to conservation and angling, was an inspirational leader to us since we had the idea to form the Trust in 2013. Notably, it was he who helped us to keep the faith when it appeared that others did not share our passions to protect heritage strains of carp.

Alan passed away after a short illness. He was 86 years old. His memorial service will be at St. Brides Church, Cwmdauddwr, Rhayader, mid-Wales, on Tuesday 30 April at 3pm. Wild Carp Trust founders Fennel Hudson and Matt Tanner will be in attendance.
